For my trip to Salt Lake, I took the STi to the airport and parked at a VERY tight garage where my Miata would have felt big in the parking spots. No wonder it was cheap to park there lol. But at least the shuttle was quick and it seemed secure enough. I found a nice end spot though so I’m confident my car is safe from door dings.

Although the airport is in Inglewood so who knows, I might be missing some wheels when I come home... I considered taking the Miata just because I wouldn’t care what happens to it much but the subaru is at least insured so I don’t really worry a whole lot. Plus the luggage situation was a tad easier!

why no wheel looks?

nice parking strategy! Although I’d personally rather take a cab to the airport than leaving the car outside my home!

Impressive!

Salt Lake is a beautiful place. I just wish it wasn’t so religious.

Expert? Then I must be one too! Here’s my wife’s explorer parked between my favorite set of poles at work. I park here every day, no matter what vehicle I’m driving .

You are certainly operating with a handicap there haha. I like using the Miata, it’s like a cheat code for parking

Yeah I have wheel locks for sure. But I don’t trust those. Plus someone could break a window and go find my wheel key if they were dedicated to the task. I suppose they might work since they aren’t just those crappy spline things

Thankfully I havent run into any of the crazies. Although there were a lot of white people on the plane that seemed to fit the bill.

There are parts of town where it’s nearly impossible to find coffee after like, 8 am. I like to stop in Kneaders when I’m there for work. They’ll sell you a coffee cup, but they never have any brewed!

I’ve worked as a valet parking attendant before, I also agree that this was super easy lol. It was just much tighter than parking anywhere else in LA. Usually spots could fit a gen1 hummer and have plenty of extra space.

But in the valet parking job, we regularly crammed 50+ cars in a lot that the fire department said could only fit about 35. There were a few times where all the workers had to go drive half the cars down the street before the fire inspector showed up lol. It was a mess but entertainment for sure.

Well that’s weird! I’m sure there’s other weird crap that happens too. I’m surprised also that they extend into the government too. How Utah ends up choosing a third party candidate for president and is usually the only state to do so.

The Miata IS a che at code! I normally park a WRX there, which isn’t much bigger than a Miata. If you look closely at the poles, you’ll see paint transfer. Every pole in the garage is marked with somebody’s paint.

Ah you think you’re safe from door dings, but the next person to park next to you will take your careful parking job and see it as an invitation to park SUPER close to you. It happens every fucking time to me. It drives me nuts. And it’s even worse in handicapped spots since most people with a placard can’t park for shit on a good day. But thankfully most handicapped spots are wider than your typical spot, so I am generally safe.

Well yeah there’s only so much I can do. At least if the person is not entirely over the line, I have adequate space. But yeah its not like there are zero dents anyways so I’m not super concerned. Handicap spots actually need the space though so people who encroach on those are just pure filth.
